Pro Audio Installations

The following is a list of a small selection of the installations I have worked on including system design, installation support, and commissioning

Fabric

Nightclub

Design, specification, installation management, and commissioning of the underground, 3 dance floor Superclub in London's old meat market district.

Cream

Nightclub

The SuperClub which started it all.  Based in Liverpool, this iconic club needed a refit and I specified JBL SoundPower for the upgrade.  It was great to see it in full swing after working with the Audio Engineer for weeks to specify, design, install and commission the new system.

Ministry of Sound

Nightclub

The legendary Ministry of Sound was overdue an update to the bar sound system.  The main dance floor system remained in tact, but we added a bit of acoustic dampening to reduce the RT60 to a manageable level.  For tracks with higher bpm, the clean up was very noticeable in the main floor.  JBL SoundPower series in the newly refitted bar area completed the experience, with JBL amplification and DSP to power it all.

Home

Nightclub

7 floors, 7 different themes, this SuperClub was really unique.  Based in Leicester Square, London, it drew crowds from it's opening until it was unfortunatley closed a few years later (not due to the sound system!!).

I had the pleasure of working again with Andy (sound engineer from Cream in Liverpool) to design, spec, tune and commision the 7 floors for a really unique audio experience.

Waxy O'Connors

Bar

The beautiful Irish bar is still up and running in Wardour St., London.  One of my favourite areas, with JBL Control series and Marquis installed.  Very low key for a drink, or on match day a great place to watch the rugby.  Acoustically challenging to try and cover all the nooks and crannies inside, but the wood helped to keep the reflections under control.

Sunderland Stadium of Light

Football stadium

My first stadium design.  Modelled it in CAD, and selected JBL custom shop boxes which later became the standard stadium cabinet.  Used JBL's CADP2 design software to check cabinet spacing and angles for optimum SPL and frequency response coverage.  This drove the installation and helped ensure uniform converage throughout the stadium once installation was complete.

The Wag Club

Nightclub

My first project with JBL Pro back in 1997.  Overseeign the installation of the new JBL SoundPower series, the SP222 2x12" is still one of my favourite cabinet designs.
